Disney Magic Bands are a must-have for any Walt Disney World vacation. They’re a simple, easy-to-use, safe and convenient way to enter parks, unlock your hotel room door, and make purchases while on-site.
Depending on where you’re staying, Magic Bands can be pre-ordered online in advance of your trip. They can also be purchased in-park at select locations.
The Disney Store
In 2013, Disney introduced MagicBands as an all-in-one tool to help guests enjoy their vacations at Walt Disney World. Similar to a Fitbit, MagicBands fit around your wrist and act as your ticket, room key, FastPass, and more!
Guests can purchase a MagicBand online or at select locations throughout Walt Disney World property. Annual Passholders are also given a free MagicBand with their purchase.
The bands are made of flexible plastic that fits around your wrist. They are also customizable.
Disney offers MagicBands in 8 standard colors and you can have characters printed on them for an extra charge. You can order them online before your visit, and they are usually ready for pick up on your arrival.
Disney’s Pin Traders
Disney’s Pin Traders is one of the best places in Walt Disney World to buy your magic bands. This store has the largest selection of Disney pins in the world and is the perfect place to start your Disney pin trading journey.
Many Disney World guests enjoy trading pins with Cast Members and other visitors. It’s a fun way to get a personalized souvenir from your trip and to meet new people!
There are a lot of different ways to trade pins, and you can find them all over the park. In addition to the traditional pin boards, you’ll also find mystery boxes where you can choose a numbered drawer and present it to a Cast Member to trade.
These new pin trading options are great for beginners or kids who are just starting to collect. You can choose from a variety of Disney pins to trade, including some that are exclusive to the 50th Anniversary celebration!
Disney Springs
Magic Bands are a key part of a seamless, high-tech Disney vacation experience. They’re an all-in-one device that allows guests to access their plans and choices throughout the entire resort, enabling them to effortlessly enter parks, unlock hotel room doors and charge purchases with no need to fumble with keys or cards.
If you’re planning a Disney World trip, it’s a good idea to purchase your MagicBands before you leave for vacation. You can do this online or at the My Disney Experience App and have them shipped to you.
Alternatively, you can customize your MagicBands on demand at various locations. The Marketplace Co-Op, for example, has several base color options and dozens of graphics from which to choose.
Other Retail Locations
Orlando may be best known for its theme parks and other family-friendly attractions, but the city also abounds with fun and exciting retail options. From high-end boutiques to big-name outlet malls, this is a shopping lover’s paradise.
Among the most interesting is the Orlando Premium Outlets, which features over 100 stores in a massive open air lifestyle center with awnings, partially-covered walkways and an on-site movie theater. Located at I-Drive, this location is conveniently located for many of the area’s top attractions including ICON Orlando and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
The MagicBand is certainly the most popular, but there are other stymical options in town. The D-Tech on demand boutique at Disney Springs is the best place to buy the fanciest MagicBand, with multiple base color options and dozens of graphics to choose from. The best way to go about this is to get your hands on a band before you head to Orlando, as MagicBand replacements are only available on a case-by-case basis.
