A MagicBand is a wearable wristband that unlocks the high-tech vacation experience. They can be used as room keys, park tickets, charge cards and more.
They are issued to Disney World resort guests and, eventually, Annual Passholders. They are also available to purchase in-person at various merchandise locations throughout the theme parks and resorts.
Hotel Guests
Magic bands (and cards) are a great way to simplify your Walt Disney World vacation. They are secure all-in-one devices that allow you to access your plans and vacation choices with a touch of a button.
They work with a small radio frequency chip which can be used to enter parks, unlock hotel rooms and make purchases at select locations around the property. They are also linked to your My Disney Experience account.
You can buy your Magic Bands and/or card online in advance of your trip from the official Disney website. They are available in 8 solid colors and a variety of premium designs featuring iconic Disney characters.
It is recommended to order your MagicBands at least 11 days prior to your stay so they can be shipped to you. They will arrive in an unmarked box and you will be able to track them through your My Disney Experience account.
Resort Guests
Magic Bands are a great way to quickly enter the parks and unlock your hotel room door. They also make it easier to pay for food and merchandise, use FastPass+ and more.
Disney has worked hard to make the MagicBand experience a seamless and fun way to do things during your vacation. However, the technology is new and it can be a little confusing for those unfamiliar with the program.
Resort guests can order a Magic Band when they book their stay through a Resort Reservation or through My Disney Experience. These bands are then shipped to your home before your trip.
Disney Vacation Club Members
The Magic Band is a great tool to unlock many of the conveniences and features that make your Disney vacation easier. They work like a room key at your hotel and allow you to charge purchases from restaurants and merchandise throughout Walt Disney World property.
If you’re a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member, you can purchase MagicBands online at disneyworld.com and they can be delivered to your home or hotel. They’re also available for pick up at Disney World parks upon arrival.
They’re an inexpensive way to stay hands-free on your Disney vacation and allow you to save money by not having to carry a park ticket or credit card with you!
They’re also a great option for guests who are looking to rent out their DVC points. While this isn’t a perfect solution for everyone, it can be a safe and easy way to save money on your next Disney trip.
Annual Passholders
If you are an annual passholder at Disney World and have an upcoming Park Pass Reservation, you can purchase MagicBands for a special pre-arrival price through My Disney Experience. These discounted bands are typically offered up to 6 days before your Park Pass Reservation, so it’s a good idea to check here early for the best price!
Walt Disney World offers a wide range of MagicBand designs, allowing guests to customize their bands to suit their personal tastes. Some of the most popular options include it’s a small world, Disney Vacation Club, and Haunted Mansion designs.
In addition, there are new designs being added to the MagicBand inventory on a regular basis. If you’re looking for a specific design that you’re not seeing, it might be a good idea to pre-order them before your trip, so they arrive in time for your visit.
Disney recently announced that they are no longer providing complimentary MagicBands to Annual Passholders at Disney World. This is a change that will be effective starting Jan. 1, 2021.
